Nairobi, Kenya (HRNW) – On March 30, 2026, UN-Habitat and the UN Environment Programme (UNEP) marked the International Day of Zero Waste by highlighting the critical link between food waste and the climate emergency. With global food supplies currently strained by regional conflicts, the UN called on governments and businesses to adopt circular economy models to ensure food security and reduce the environmental footprint of waste.
