IAEA Chief Demands Strict Nuclear Checks in Potential US-Iran Peace Deal

Seoul, South Korea (HRNW) – Rafael Grossi, Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), stated on April 15, 2026, that any agreement to end the war between the U.S. and Iran must include “very detailed” verification measures. Speaking in Seoul, Grossi emphasized that without full access for inspectors to verify Iran’s nuclear activities, any peace treaty would be an “illusion of an agreement.” This follows reports that a second round of high-level talks may occur within the next 48 hours.
