Islamabad (HRNW): The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) has imposed a fine of Rs389 million on mobile operator Jazz over alleged violations in the issuance, verification, activation and monitoring of approximately 400 corporate postpaid SIMs.
According to the PTA, the action followed a complaint filed by Target Marketing, which alleged that the SIMs had been issued in its name without its authorization.
The regulator said that during its proceedings, Jazz failed to provide the required corporate authorization documents, complete customer details and accurate SIM mapping records.
The PTA has directed Jazz to deposit the fine within 30 days, warning that failure to comply within the stipulated period could lead to further legal action.
