Bishkek (HRNW): Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi met Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian on the sidelines of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) Summit in Kyrgyzstan. The leaders discussed matters of mutual interest and regional developments.
Chinese President Xi Jinping, Russian President Vladimir Putin, Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian and leaders from more than a dozen other countries are gathering in Kyrgyzstan for the two-day SCO summit.
The SCO includes Russia, China, India, Pakistan, Iran, Belarus and four Central Asian countries. The organization is marking the 25th anniversary of its establishment this year.
Russia and China have increasingly used SCO meetings as a platform to promote a multipolar world order and demonstrate greater cooperation among member states amid wider geopolitical competition.
