Kathmandu (HRNW)- Dozens of Ukrainian citizens remain missing following the devastating floods in Nepal’s Bhote Koshi River region. Nepal’s Foreign Ministry initially reported 53 Ukrainian nationals missing, while later Ukrainian authorities increased the figure to 62.
The floods struck the Bhote Koshi River region on August 26, 2026, triggering a major search and rescue operation. According to Nepalese authorities, 903 bodies had been recovered by August 31, while around 4,200 people were still missing. Rescue teams continue efforts to locate survivors and recover missing persons.
