Baku, Azerbaijan (HRNW)- On 5 June 2026, the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) led global observances of World Environment Day 2026, bringing together governments, experts, and civil society organizations to highlight the urgent need for environmental protection and climate action.
UN officials stressed that safeguarding the environment is essential for human well-being, sustainable development, and the future of coming generations. The organization called for stronger international cooperation to address climate change, biodiversity loss, and pollution.
