Vienna, Austria (HRNW)- On 16 May 2026, the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) warned that drug trafficking networks are rapidly evolving through the use of advanced digital technologies.
According to the agency, online platforms and encrypted communication systems are making it easier for organized criminal groups to expand international narcotics operations. UNODC called for stronger intelligence sharing and enhanced cyber-monitoring cooperation among nations.
