Nairobi, Kenya (HRNW)- On 16 May 2026, the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) expressed concern over the rapid destruction of forests and environmental degradation worldwide.
UNEP warned that deforestation is intensifying climate change, biodiversity loss, and the risk of natural disasters. The agency urged governments to implement stronger environmental reforms and adopt urgent conservation measures to protect forests and ecosystems.
