WHO Urges Countries to Strengthen Universal Health Coverage

Geneva, Switzerland (HRNW)- On 28 June 2026, the World Health Organization (WHO) reiterated that Universal Health Coverage (UHC) remains one of the most effective ways to improve global health security and reduce inequalities.

WHO called on governments to expand primary healthcare, improve access to essential medicines, strengthen disease surveillance systems, and invest in resilient health infrastructure capable of responding to future emergencies.

Impact for Pakistan:
Expanding universal health coverage would improve access to affordable healthcare, particularly in rural and underserved areas, strengthen disease surveillance, and enhance Pakistan’s preparedness for future epidemics and natural disasters.
