Paris, France (HRNW)- On 14 May 2026, UNESCO stressed the importance of safeguarding schools and educational institutions during armed conflicts and humanitarian emergencies.
The agency warned that attacks on schools disrupt children’s futures and undermine social stability. UNESCO urged governments and armed groups to respect international laws protecting education facilities and students.
