UNODC Highlights Rising Threat of Online Exploitation and Fraud

Vienna, Austria (HRNW)- On 15 May 2026, the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) warned about increasing cases of online fraud, cyber exploitation, and digital criminal activities worldwide.

The agency emphasized that vulnerable individuals, including children and elderly people, are increasingly becoming targets of organized cybercriminal networks. UNODC called for stronger cybersecurity systems and international legal cooperation.
