Women’s Rights Treaty Body Session Begins

Geneva, Switzerland (HRNW)- Today the UN Committee on the Elimination of Discrimination against Women (CEDAW) opened its 92nd session, reviewing state reports and resuming work that had been disrupted due to budget and scheduling challenges. Treaty bodies like CEDAW play a central role in monitoring compliance with core UN human rights treaties, including gender-based violence issues and women’s economic and civil rights globally.
