Geneva, Switzerland (HRNW) – The World Meteorological Organization (WMO) has warned that a strengthening El Niño event is expected to intensify during August, increasing the likelihood of heatwaves, droughts, floods, and severe weather in many regions of the world. The UN agency urged governments to strengthen early-warning systems and disaster preparedness as climate risks continue to grow.
