UN Security Council Schedules Second Straw Poll to Choose Next Secretary-General

New York, United States (HRNW) – The United Nations Security Council will hold its second informal straw poll on 21 August as the selection process for the next UN Secretary-General gathers momentum. The first round placed former Costa Rican Vice-President Rebeca Grynspan ahead of other candidates, but several additional rounds are expected before the Council recommends a nominee to the UN General Assembly.
