ILO Emphasizes Human-Centered Approach to Artificial Intelligence and the Future of Work

Geneva, Switzerland (HRNW)- On 6 June 2026, during the International Labour Conference, the International Labour Organization (ILO) stressed that the future of work should be shaped by human-centered policies rather than technology alone.

ILO Director-General Gilbert F. Houngbo stated that artificial intelligence must be guided by social dialogue, fair labor policies, and strong institutions to ensure that technological progress benefits workers and promotes social justice.
