Geneva (HRNW) —A UN Special Rapporteur has warned that air pollution is now a major global human rights issue, affecting millions of people worldwide.
The report presented to the Human Rights Council states that polluted air contributes to millions of premature deaths each year and disproportionately impacts children, elderly people, and low-income communities.
Experts emphasized that access to clean air is a fundamental human right, urging governments to take stronger action to reduce emissions and protect public health.
