Geneva, Switzerland (HRNW)- On 25 June 2026, ahead of the International Day in Support of Victims of Torture, the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR) renewed its call for governments to eradicate torture and ensure justice for survivors.
The Office emphasized that torture is prohibited under international law without exception and urged States to strengthen accountability, rehabilitation services, and legal safeguards for victims.
