Geneva, Switzerland (HRNW)- On 26 June 2026, the World Health Organization (WHO) called on countries to strengthen surveillance, improve access to clean water and sanitation, expand vaccination campaigns, and enhance emergency preparedness to combat cholera and other infectious diseases.
WHO emphasized that early detection, rapid response, and international cooperation remain essential to preventing outbreaks from escalating into major public health emergencies.
