UN Women Calls for Greater Investment in Women’s Leadership and Economic Empowerment

New York (HRNW) – On 5 July 2026, UN Women renewed its call for increased investment in women’s leadership, economic participation, and equal opportunities as countries work toward achieving the 2030 Sustainable Development Agenda.

The agency stressed that gender equality remains central to sustainable development and urged governments to strengthen policies promoting women’s participation in decision-making, entrepreneurship, education, and the digital economy.

UN Women also highlighted the importance of eliminating gender-based discrimination and ensuring equal access to economic resources and public services for women and girls worldwide.
