New York (HRNW) – On 5 July 2026, UNICEF reaffirmed its commitment to expanding programmes that protect children’s rights and improve access to education, healthcare, nutrition, and emergency assistance across nearly 190 countries and territories.
The agency emphasized that children remain disproportionately affected by armed conflicts, climate change, displacement, and poverty, making continued international cooperation and investment essential.
UNICEF called on governments and development partners to prioritize child-centred policies that ensure every child has access to quality education, protection, and opportunities to thrive regardless of their circumstances.
