Geneva, Switzerland (HRNW)- On 19–20 May 2026, the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) appealed to donor nations to increase humanitarian funding as displacement levels continue to rise globally.
The agency warned that millions of refugees and displaced families are struggling to access food, shelter, healthcare, and education. UNHCR stated that funding shortages could severely affect relief efforts in several crisis-hit regions.
