Refugee Women’s Rights Highlighted at UN Human Rights Council

Geneva (HRNW) — At the ongoing United Nations Human Rights Council session, activists raised serious concerns about the situation of minority refugee women and girls.

Speakers highlighted cases of displacement, discrimination, and lack of access to healthcare and education. Advocacy groups emphasized that refugee women often face double vulnerability — both as displaced persons and as members of marginalized communities.

Human rights organizations called for stronger international protection mechanisms and targeted support programs to empower refugee women through education and economic opportunities.
