UN Condemns Suicide Attack on Mosque, Calls for Justice for Victims

Islamabad (HRNW)- UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres has strongly condemned the suicide attack on a mosque and Imambargah in Islamabad, calling the targeting of civilians and places of worship unacceptable. He urged that those responsible be identified and brought to justice, expressed condolences to the families of the 32 martyrs, and prayed for the speedy recovery of the 162 injured, 29 of whom are in critical condition. The UN reaffirmed its solidarity with Pakistan against terrorism, joining the global condemnation from countries including the United States, Saudi Arabia, Iran, Russia, China, Turkey, and Afghanistan.
