New York, United States (HRNW) — During the 70th session of the Commission on the Status of Women (CSW70) today, UN Women presented a landmark report on strengthening access to justice. The findings reveal that globally, women still hold only 64% of the legal rights enjoyed by men. Amidst the backdrop of regional wars, UN Women highlighted how conflict often accelerates the rollback of women’s rights, leaving them exposed to violence without legal recourse. The agency is urging governments to dismantle structural barriers and ensure that “justice is the bridge between rights on paper and rights in practice.”
