UN Appeals for Urgent Aid as Lebanon Displacement Surges

New York (HRNW) — The United Nations has launched a major humanitarian appeal as the crisis in Lebanon worsens, with hundreds of thousands of people displaced due to escalating conflict.

UN agencies reported that families are struggling with shortages of food, shelter, and medical supplies, while existing humanitarian resources are becoming overwhelmed. The organization is seeking hundreds of millions of dollars in emergency funding to support affected populations.

Secretary-General António Guterres called for stronger international solidarity, warning that without immediate assistance, the humanitarian situation could deteriorate further.
