Geneva, Switzerland (HRNW)- During a UN press briefing on 17 April 2026, UN Women revealed alarming findings on the ongoing humanitarian crisis in Gaza, particularly affecting women and girls.
According to new analysis, tens of thousands of women and girls have been killed since the escalation of conflict, while nearly one million have been displaced. The report highlights that many survivors are facing severe challenges, including lack of healthcare, sanitation, and protection services.
UN officials stressed that despite a ceasefire, threats to women and girls remain persistent, with urgent calls for full respect of international law, protection measures, and unimpeded humanitarian access.
