Geneva (HRNW) — Several Gulf countries have formally requested an urgent debate at the United Nations Human Rights Council following recent missile and drone attacks attributed to Iran.
According to diplomatic communications, the attacks targeted civilian areas and energy infrastructure across multiple countries, raising serious human rights concerns. The proposed resolution calls for an immediate halt to hostilities and compensation for affected civilians and environmental damage.
UN officials are currently reviewing the request, and a special session may be scheduled soon to address the growing humanitarian and regional security implications.
