WHO Warns of Expanding Humanitarian Health Risks in Conflict Areas

Geneva, Switzerland (HRNW)- On 6–7 May 2026, the World Health Organization (WHO) expressed concern over worsening healthcare conditions in conflict-affected regions across the Middle East and Africa.

WHO officials stated that shortages of medicines, attacks on healthcare facilities, and displacement of medical workers are putting millions of civilians at risk. The agency urged the international community to increase emergency health support and ensure protection for healthcare infrastructure.
