Geneva, Switzerland (HRNW)- On 18 June 2026, United Nations officials marked the Fifth International Day for Countering Hate Speech by urging governments, technology companies, educators, and civil society to work together against online and offline hate speech.
The UN stressed that promoting human rights, tolerance, dialogue, and responsible digital communication is essential to preventing discrimination, violence, and social polarization.
