UNODC Highlights Rise in Financial Cybercrime Networks

Vienna, Austria (HRNW)- On 20 May 2026, the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) warned about the rapid expansion of international cybercrime and online financial fraud networks.

According to the agency, organized criminal groups are increasingly using digital platforms and cryptocurrency systems to conduct illegal financial activities. UNODC urged governments to strengthen cyber laws and enhance global intelligence-sharing mechanisms.
