Taliban’s New Criminal Code Sparks Global Concerns Over Human Rights and Social Justice

Kabul (HRNW) – Concerns are being expressed globally over the new criminal code introduced by the Taliban government in Afghanistan.

International analysts and human rights experts say this code strengthens strict laws and state control rather than promoting transparent governance and public consultation. According to the American magazine The National Interest, the law legitimizes violence, fear, and harsh punishments, and includes elements dividing society into free and slave classes.

Experts warn that the code increases risks for Afghan women, minorities, and dissenting voices, while raising fears among refugees and social workers. The Taliban administration is reportedly seeking to enforce complete obedience and control through this law, further deepening domestic fear and insecurity. Analysts caution that such laws may push Afghanistan toward global isolation and worsen human rights, equality, and social justice conditions in the country.
