BANNU (HRNW) — A police officer was martyred after unidentified gunmen opened fire in Bannu.
According to initial reports, police officer Saifullah was on his way to duty when motorcycle-riding unidentified assailants opened fire on him within the jurisdiction of Basya Khel Police Station.
Saifullah sustained critical injuries in the attack and later succumbed to his wounds. Following the incident, police cordoned off the area and launched a search operation to locate the attackers.
Police officials said an investigation is underway to determine the motive behind the attack and identify those responsible. Evidence is also being collected as part of the investigation.
