UN Security Council Holds High-Level Sessions on Regional Cooperation

New York, United States (HRNW) Under the presidency of Bahrain, the UN Security Council convened two significant high-level briefings on April 2, 2026. The sessions focused on strengthening cooperation between the United Nations and regional organizations, specifically the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) and the League of Arab States (LAS). Bahraini Foreign Minister Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani chaired the meetings, which addressed the critical need for unified diplomatic efforts to resolve escalating regional conflicts and ensure maritime security in the Middle East.
