According to a statement issued by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), a firing incident occurred at the Sarhad University Islamabad campus on August 24, 2026. The officer allegedly involved in the incident has been taken into custody under the Pakistan Army’s code of conduct, while an inquiry and disciplinary proceedings have been initiated.
ISPR said the Pakistan Army believes in a system of self-accountability and maintains a strict and transparent accountability mechanism that is applied without discrimination.
According to the statement, the Army’s internal accountability process is based on concrete evidence and proof rather than allegations.
ISPR said that whenever violations of military laws or regulations occur, the accountability mechanism is activated swiftly and without discrimination.
The statement added that under the Army’s discipline and self-accountability system, anyone found responsible will face the applicable legal process.
