Karachi (HRNW) — August 24, 2026: The Sindh High Court has rejected the bail application of Faisal Zafeer, an accused in a kidnapping-for-ransom case.
During the hearing, the complainant’s counsel, Advocate Hasnain Chauhan, told the court that substantial evidence was available against the accused.
According to the counsel, the accused allegedly kidnapped a citizen identified as Sufyan from Liaquatabad in December 2025 and demanded Rs40 million as ransom for his release.
The court was informed that Rs4.5 million was paid as ransom, following which Sufyan was released. The complainant’s lawyer said that Rs250,000 from the ransom amount was allegedly recovered from the accused.
The counsel further submitted that after his release, the alleged victim identified his own neighbour as one of the kidnappers.
The trial court had previously rejected Faisal Zafeer’s bail application.
After hearing the arguments, the Sindh High Court dismissed the accused’s bail petition.
