KARACHI (HRNW) – The Karachi Police have successfully traced and apprehended the primary suspect involved in the recent killing in the Kalakot area, solving the case within a 72-hour window. In a shocking revelation, the perpetrator turned out to be a close friend of the victim.
Intelligence-Led Operation and Arrest
The suspect, identified as Anees, was captured during a specialized technical and intelligence-based targeted operation. Law enforcement officials confirmed that the weapon used in the commission of the crime has been recovered from his possession. During the initial interrogation, the suspect confessed to the killing, citing a deep-seated personal grudge as the motive behind the fatal attack.
Background of the Incident
The incident occurred on March 25 in the Kalakot vicinity, where a citizen named Musa was critically injured after being targeted in a firing incident. Despite being rushed to the hospital, Musa succumbed to his injuries. Following the attack, a formal case (FIR No. 100/26) was registered at the Kalakot Police Station to initiate the manhunt.
Ongoing Legal Proceedings
Authorities are currently scrutinizing the suspect’s previous criminal record to determine any past involvement in unlawful activities. While Anees remains in custody for further legal proceedings, police teams are conducting additional raids to track down any other accomplices who may have facilitated the crime.
