Sindh Anti-Corruption Launches Investigation Against SBCA Officers

KARACHI (HRNW): The Sindh Anti-Corruption Establishment has initiated an investigation against officers of the Sindh Building Control Authority (SBCA). Anti-corruption authorities took immediate action following a formal complaint received regarding the conduct of SBCA officials in District East.

Key Officials Summoned

The Anti-Corruption department has summoned several high-ranking officers for questioning, including:

  • Asif Sheikh (Director)

  • Najam Qureshi (Deputy Director)

  • Shahid (Senior Building Inspector)

  • Other relevant staff members.

The officers have been ordered to appear before the authorities on April 8 at 11:00 AM. They have been strictly instructed to bring all relevant records pertaining to the case.

Scope of the Investigation

During the proceedings, the statements of the summoned officers will be recorded. They are required to present documentation regarding:

  • Specific plots and complete title documents.

  • Approved building plans and No-Objection Certificates (NOCs).

  • Records related to illegal constructions and other suspected irregularities.

Warning of Legal Action

Anti-corruption authorities have clarified that unilateral action will be taken if the officers fail to appear. The scope of the investigation remains broad to ensure a thorough probe into allegations of corruption and administrative malpractice.

A formal letter, issued under the signature of Assistant Director Asadullah Khokhar, stated that the crackdown on corruption will remain swift and indiscriminate, warning that the officers involved could face severe disciplinary and legal consequences.
