Iran Considers Withdrawing from NPT Amid Espionage Concerns, Raising Global Tensions

Tehran (HRNW)- Iran is reportedly considering withdrawing from the global Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT), raising serious international concern. Iranian media reports indicate that the potential move is aimed at halting alleged espionage by IAEA inspectors, who Iran claims are passing sensitive information to the US and Israel.

The Iranian parliament and other institutions are reviewing the matter, with officials suggesting that Iran’s rationale for staying in the NPT has weakened under current circumstances. They argue that while the NPT obligates the IAEA to provide access to peaceful nuclear technology, US and Israeli actions targeting Iranian nuclear facilities have gone largely unchecked.

Experts warn that Iran’s withdrawal from the NPT would represent a major setback for the global nuclear framework and could further escalate regional tensions. Meanwhile, countries including Pakistan are actively engaged in diplomatic efforts to reduce tensions and seek a negotiated solution, though the situation remains complex.
