Cargo Aircraft Reportedly Crashes into Arabian Sea Near Karachi After Losing Radar Contact

Karachi (HRNW) – A private cargo aircraft operating from Sharjah to Karachi has reportedly crashed into the Arabian Sea after losing contact with air traffic control, according to preliminary aviation sources.

Initial reports indicate that the K2 Airways cargo flight, identified as KTA-1732, disappeared from radar approximately 155 nautical miles west of Karachi (around 300 kilometers offshore) while en route to the city.

According to aviation sources, the crew reported a navigation problem during the flight and requested a heading from Air Traffic Control (ATC). Controllers reportedly instructed the aircraft to maintain its current course. Shortly afterward, the aircraft allegedly made a sudden right turn and began a rapid descent, losing altitude at an estimated 15,000 feet per minute. Multiple attempts by ATC to contact the crew reportedly went unanswered before the aircraft disappeared from radar.

The aircraft has been identified as a Boeing 734 cargo aircraft, reportedly registered as AP-BOI.

Search and rescue operations have been initiated to locate the aircraft, while aviation authorities are expected to launch a formal investigation to determine the cause of the incident.

As of now, officials have not issued a final confirmation regarding the crash or the fate of those on board. Further details are awaited from the relevant authorities.
