Islamabad APC Calls for Dialogue, Recovery of Missing Persons, and Political Solutions to Balochistan Issues

Islamabad (HRNW)- An all-party conference on Balochistan, organized by Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), called for resolving the province’s issues through dialogue, rejecting the use of force, recovering missing persons, ensuring transparent elections, and guaranteeing a fair distribution of resources among local communities.

The conference, held at Khyber Pakhtunkhwa House in Islamabad and chaired by Akhtar Khan Mengal, was attended by Opposition Leader Mahmood Khan Achakzai, Shahid Khaqan Abbasi, Asad Qaiser, Mustafa Nawaz Khokhar, Mohsin Dawar, Maulana Salahuddin Ayubi, Maulana Shakir, Jan Muhammad Buledi, Asghar Khan Achakzai, and other political leaders.

Participants voiced concerns over the security, political, and humanitarian situation in Balochistan. Jamaat-e-Islami leader Maulana Shakir called for the recovery of missing persons and highlighted poverty, unemployment, and rising violence in the province. JUI leader Maulana Salahuddin Ayubi criticized the closure of the Chaman border, arguing that it had harmed trade without reducing terrorism.

National Party Senator Jan Muhammad Buledi said Islamabad has failed to treat Balochistan as a serious political issue, stressing that the province’s longstanding problems require political rather than security-based solutions. ANP leader Asghar Khan Achakzai alleged that resource exploitation and governance failures have worsened the situation, while Mohsin Dawar called for the release of political prisoners and criticized security policies in both Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

Former senator Mustafa Nawaz Khokhar warned that the constitutional and political system was weakening, urging national stakeholders to pursue transparent elections and meaningful political dialogue to address the province’s grievances.
