Washington (HRNW) – US President Donald Trump has said that the current situation regarding Iran is “fifty-fifty,” meaning either a successful agreement could be reached or another war could begin, with a final decision expected by tomorrow.
According to US media reports, President Trump made these remarks during a telephone conversation with journalist Barack Obama. He stated that the chances of peace or conflict are currently equal.
Adopting a tough tone, Trump said, “One of two things will happen — either I will hit Iran harder than before, or we will sign a good deal.”
The US president also acknowledged divisions within American policy circles, saying some officials support a diplomatic settlement while others favor renewed military action.
Trump revealed that he would chair an important meeting with top advisers, including Special Envoy for the Middle East Steve Witkoff, former adviser Jared Kushner, and Vice President JD Vance, to discuss negotiations with Iran, possible agreements, and future US strategy.
Responding to reports regarding Israeli concerns over a potential US-Iran agreement, Trump rejected claims that Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu was worried about the talks.
He stated that the United States would make decisions solely based on its own interests.
It is worth noting that Pakistan is currently playing a mediation role in ceasefire-related discussions between the United States and Iran, while Pakistan’s Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir recently returned from an important visit to Tehran.
Iranian and American officials have both confirmed that progress has been made on several issues, although discussions continue on unresolved matters.
