Qatar and China Urge Iran and US to Show Restraint, Call for Diplomatic Solution

Doha/Beijing (HRNW)- Qatar and China have expressed deep concern over the renewed escalation of tensions between Iran and the United States, urging all parties to exercise restraint, prevent further escalation, and continue diplomatic dialogue.

According to AFP, Qatar condemned Iran’s reported attacks on Kuwait and Bahrain, saying such actions undermine regional peace and stability.

In a statement, the Qatari Foreign Ministry said the region must be protected from the consequences of such attacks and emphasized that dialogue and diplomacy remain the best path to reducing tensions. The ministry also called for continued progress under the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between Iran and the United States.

Qatar, which has played an important mediating role in diplomatic contacts between Tehran and Washington, said sustained diplomatic engagement is essential for maintaining regional stability.

Meanwhile, Beijing also voiced concern over the growing tensions in the Middle East following reported US strikes on multiple targets in Iran.

Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Mao Ning told a media briefing that renewed conflict in the Middle East is not in the interest of any party. She stressed that military action cannot resolve fundamental disputes and urged all relevant countries to pursue dialogue and diplomatic solutions.

The Chinese government called on both Iran and the United States to exercise maximum restraint, avoid further escalation, and work toward resolving their differences through peaceful negotiations.

According to political analysts, the statements from Qatar and China reflect growing international support for diplomatic efforts to prevent the Middle East crisis from escalating further.
