Crackdown on Incomplete Construction Projects in Sindh!

KARACHI (HRNW): The Sindh Building Control Authority (SBBA) has announced a rigorous crackdown against builders who have failed to complete their construction projects within the officially stipulated timeframe. This move aims to protect the financial interests of allottees and ensure accountability within the real estate sector.

Strict Penalties for Defaulting Builders

According to Provincial Minister for Local Government, Syed Nasir Hussain Shah, the government will no longer tolerate indefinite delays in housing and commercial projects. The following measures have been authorized:

  • License Suspension: Builders failing to meet deadlines will have their professional licenses suspended immediately.

  • Blacklisting: Defaulting firms will be “de-listed” and barred from obtaining approvals for any new projects in the future.

  • Public Protection: The primary goal is to safeguard the hard-earned money of citizens who often face years of waiting for the possession of their properties.

Data Collection and Enforcement

The Director General of the SBCA has been formally instructed to compile a comprehensive list of all incomplete and stalled projects across the province. Minister Nasir Hussain Shah emphasized that transparency and the timely delivery of projects are non-negotiable.

The SBCA has warned that this operation will be conducted without discrimination, and builders are urged to regularize their project timelines or face the full extent of the law.
