Karachi (HRNW): The principal suspect in an alleged rape case involving a minor girl reportedly escaped from the Karachi City Court immediately after the court’s decision was announced, prompting serious allegations of negligence against the police.
According to the victim’s family, their legal counsel, Faran Afridi, alleged that the suspect managed to flee due to the absence of the investigating officer, Asad Ashfaq, and claimed there may have been collusion that facilitated the escape.
The victim’s family has demanded strict departmental action against the investigating officer and called for the immediate arrest of the absconding suspect. They also urged the relevant authorities to conduct a transparent inquiry into the circumstances surrounding the escape.
Police authorities have not yet issued a detailed official statement regarding the allegations, and the matter remains under investigation.
