Karachi (HRNW) — The Sindh government has stepped forward to assist Tahira Habib Jalib, daughter of renowned poet Habib Jalib, after a video showing her selling goods from a roadside cart went viral on social media.
Sindh Minister for Culture Syed Zulfiqar Ali Shah contacted Tahira Habib Jalib following the video and assured her of support in addressing her difficulties, including assistance in finding a more sustainable source of livelihood.
The provincial minister also contacted Punjab Governor Sardar Saleem Haider Khan, requesting that he meet Tahira Habib Jalib and extend support to her.
Zulfiqar Ali Shah said the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) stands with the family of Habib Jalib and that efforts would be made to ensure their welfare and support.
The development has drawn public attention to the economic hardships faced by the families of prominent national figures and the importance of providing dignified livelihood opportunities.
