Moscow (HRNW) — Fuel shortages have returned to parts of Russia, with motorists in Moscow facing long queues at petrol stations and restrictions on gasoline purchases.
According to Reuters, some queues have stretched for up to one kilometre, while some fuel stations have reportedly reduced sales or temporarily closed.
The shortages have been linked to a combination of seasonal demand and Ukrainian strikes targeting Russian oil refineries, which have disrupted domestic fuel production.
The Russian government has taken emergency measures, including restrictions on fuel exports and the import of petroleum products, as authorities attempt to stabilize supplies.
