Bail Denied to Former MQM-P Leader in Alleged Anti-State Facebook Propaganda Case

Karachi (HRNW) — Judicial Magistrate East Gulrez Memon has rejected the bail application of former MQM-Pakistan Coordination Committee member Muhammad Zahid Mansoori in a case involving alleged anti-state propaganda on Facebook.

According to cybercrime authorities, the accused was allegedly operating a Facebook page titled “MQM Pakistan Media”, through which anti-state content and propaganda were allegedly circulated.

Cybercrime officials said Mansoori was arrested during an operation in the Gulistan-e-Johar area.

Authorities also claimed that the mobile phone allegedly used to operate the Facebook page was recovered during the operation and has been taken into custody as part of the investigation.

After hearing the arguments and reviewing the case record, the court rejected the accused’s bail application.

Cybercrime authorities said further investigation is underway, including examination of the recovered mobile phone and other digital evidence.
