PTI, JUI-F Agree to Move Toward United Opposition

Islamabad (HRNW) — Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) have reportedly made progress toward uniting opposition parties and adopting a joint political strategy against the government.

According to sources, recent contacts between the two parties focused on the possibility of forming a united opposition, strengthening parliamentary cooperation, and pursuing a coordinated political struggle.

Although PTI and JUI-F continue to have differences on certain political and constitutional issues, the two sides have reportedly identified areas of common ground, particularly regarding opposition to the government.

The development comes as opposition parties increase consultations and coordination in Parliament and seek to exert greater political pressure on the government through joint meetings and activities.

Efforts to bring PTI and JUI-F closer are not new. Political contacts and discussions over a broader opposition alliance have continued since 2024, although differences over constitutional matters and a lack of mutual trust have repeatedly delayed a final agreement.

If the latest consultations result in a formal alliance, the move could significantly reshape parliamentary opposition politics and strengthen coordination among anti-government parties.
