Russian Attack on Kyiv Kills at Least 12, Dozens Injured

Kyiv (HRNW) — At least 12 people were killed and more than 30 injured after a major overnight Russian missile and drone attack on Ukraine’s capital, Kyiv, on Thursday, August 20.

The attack damaged residential buildings and civilian infrastructure, including a children’s medical facility. Ukrainian authorities said Russia used ballistic and cruise missiles as well as a large number of drones in the assault.

Ukrainian officials have again called for stronger international support for air-defense systems to protect civilians from continued Russian attacks.
