Poor Air Quality in Karachi Linked to Rise in Respiratory Illnesses

Karachi (HRNW) — Poor air quality in Karachi is reportedly contributing to an increase in cases of colds, coughs, and respiratory illnesses, according to respiratory specialist Dr. Javed Khan.

Dr. Javed Khan said that the lack of rainfall has adversely affected Karachi’s Air Quality Index (AQI), contributing to a rise in patients suffering from respiratory problems.

He said hospitals have recorded an estimated 20 percent increase in patients with respiratory infections.

Health experts have urged citizens, particularly vulnerable groups, to take necessary precautions amid deteriorating air quality.
